THE SILVER STATE READY RELEASE OF NEW DISC MAY 6TH
SPRING TOURDATES WITH SOUTH ANNOUNCED
April 8, 2008 (New York, NY) The Silver State are gearing up to release their debut disc "Cut and Run" and tour with fellow UK labelmates, SOUTH. This much heralded debut marks a return to narrative songwriting and live rock and roll recordings with minimal overdubs. Most listeners will recall Yo La Tengo and even more noticeably Pavement. "Cut and Run," also features production by The Lemonheads' Vess Rhutenberg.
The principal creative force behind The Silver State is Las Vegas to New York import Caleb Lindskoog. Caleb has previously recorded with June Panic, Heidi Gluck (Some Girls), Margot and the Nuclear So and So's, and former Las Vegas Bandmate Ronnie Vannucci of The Killers.
Later this summer The Silver State will join Margot and The Nuclear So and So's on the road. Since their formation, The Silver State has performed with Apples In Stereo, Ben Kweller, The Album Leaf, and The Silversun Pickups.
The video for the album's first single "Faith, You Changed Your Name" directed by the winner of this year's Slamdance International Film Festival, Ryan Piotrowitz is in the can.
"Cut and Run" will be released by Young American Recordings on May 6, 2008.
